Wot Rot
The WOT ROT - Rot Repair Kit has been developed by DRIVE Marine Services as an effective repair process for REPAIRING ROT in all sorts of applications. The only means of eliminating rot affected timber in the past has been to cut out the damaged material and replace it with a new section of timber. This is expensive and time-consuming and in some cases, especially heritage-listed properties, almost impossible without dismantling large areas of a boat or house window and door frames. The technique for carrying out a repair on rot affected timber varies depending on the extent of the damaged area, whether it is a structural section or a clear finish is desired when the repair is completed.
WOT-ROT Rot Repair Kit contains;

HOW MUCH ROT WILL THIS KIT FIX??? How long is a piece of string... It's only meant for small jobs or a stepping stone to working out how much of the products are needed to finish the job!
DRIVE Marine Services detailed Instructions supplied with each kit describe four techniques for repairing rot affected timber with the easiest being a Cosmetic Repair where the damage is superficial/shallow (Furry Timber). BOTE-COTE Epoxy resin with the addition of TPRDA is poured onto the surface of the damaged area and allowed to soak in until the area is saturated. The next technique is to fill and seal the rotten timber which is used where the area is not too large or is difficult to replace the rot affected timber. A sharp implement is used to determine the extent of the rot, as it will easily penetrate until solid timber is contacted. Bote Cote with TPRDA added is then injected into the holes until the rotten timber becomes saturated and will absorb no more epoxy resin. The other two techniques involve removing all of the rot then filling with thickened Bote Cote epoxy or removing and replacing the timber.
The kit contains everything needed to carry out a repair using the techniques described including syringes, draw-up needles, gloves, measure cups as well as the Epoxy and TPRDA.
The key component of the kit is Timber Preservative Reactive Dilutant Agent (TPRDA) which was developed by BoatCraft Pacific for adding with Bote Cote Epoxy Resin. It enables the Bote Cote to penetrate more effectively into the surface of timber (ask us for a copy of our brochure on Timber Saturation). It also has a significant amount of additive which will eliminate rot spores it comes in contact with, thereby making it effective in fixing rot in affected timber and sealing the timber to prevent further degradation. For larger repair jobs we can supply in bulk quantities and we look forward to discussing your requirements.
